Hybrid Sensing in the Bionano-Systems: Imaging, Biosensing and Interaction
Our Mission & Vision
At the heart of our mission is the training of 15 Doctoral Candidates through a unique combination of experimental and computational expertise. Working at the emerging interface of nanotechnology and biotechnology, they gain direct experience applying their research within leading industrial environments. We aim to shape the future of biomolecular engineering by integrating bottom-up molecular design with top-down conventional nanotechnology. By combining DNA, RNA, and protein nanotechnologies, we are developing hybrid sensing and actuation systems with unprecedented capabilities.
Objective 1
Lay the foundation and seed the integration of DNA, RNA and protein nanotechnology towards an integrated bottom-up nanotechnology
Objective 2
Integrate hybrid functionalities and create use cases for integrated molecular devices, for sensing inputs and create response by signal transduction or local action
Objective 3
Show new single-molecule, imaging and sensing capabilities for decoding and understanding biomolecular systems
